An Interview with Magdiel Ponce, a Candidate who was recently placed by Greg
At Willing to Hunt, our goal is to find the right fit the first time. While some recruiting agencies just want to get you placed, we want to make sure that you find your dream career at a place that truly appreciates you.
We recently placed a very special candidate shortly after he moved to the Chicago Area. He shared his experience working with Willing to Hunt.
Q: How was the experience of working with Willing to Hunt?
Greg at Willing to Hunt reached out shortly after I messaged [an old college friend] on LinkedIn. Greg set up a phone call to get to know me better and find out my interests to see where I would be a good fit. Shortly after, Greg presented four companies with brief descriptions regarding each company. He had me select from the companies and we did a video call preparing me for the initial call with the prospective employers. Greg was extremely helpful, gave me great advice, and gave me a good confidence boost in the initial stages to land my dream job.
Q: What did you like most about the process?
It was very easy and made the search incredibly painless. I’ve never gone through a headhunter in the past and have always had to find jobs on my own, which is always a lot of disappointment, a lot of headaches, and seems like a lot of wasted time. With Willing to Hunt, they know exactly where to put you based on your skills so you won’t be faced with disappointment. I couldn’t imagine having secured the position I got without their help.
Q: Was there anything that surprised you during your career search?
How quickly everything happened. One day I’m considering the possibility of moving cities and within a matter of days I have several interviews lined up and not shortly after multiple job offers. Willing to Hunt made career searching fast, easy, and painless. Plus, I got my dream job!
Q: What advice would you give others who are looking to work with Willing to Hunt to transition into a new career?
They know what they’re doing. Take the advice, practice how to interview on your own, and learn the companies. It’s not just all on Willing to Hunt, I had to put in my time as well to make sure I was ready for the interviews.
Q: What was the most beneficial thing you learned from working with Willing to Hunt?
I learned how to simplify things rather than go into a lot of the specifics. I learned how to give a wider picture of my skills and talent. Thanks again to Willing to Hunt for everything and I look forward to grabbing lunch at some point once I’m settled in my apartment!
